Quick Yeast Rolls

  • Author: admin

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) rapid rise yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F or 45°C)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  3. Beat in the egg and gradually add the remaining 1 cup of flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead gently for a few minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into rolls.
  6. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover them with a clean kitchen towel, and let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a light golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and, if desired, brush the tops with melted butter for a soft, shiny finish.

  • The temperature of the water used to activate the yeast is crucial; it should be warm but not hot.
  • Kneading the dough adequately is key to achieving the perfect texture.
  • Allow the dough to rise in a warm, draft-free environment.
  • Brushing the rolls with butter before baking gives them a lovely golden color and rich flavor.
  • Be careful not to overbake, as this can dry out the rolls.
