OnePlus 10T Phone, OxygenOS 13 Software Coming Aug. 3

OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 10T 5G phone and OxygenOS 13 software at a live event in New York City on Aug. 3, which will also be livestreamed on

The software may be more eagerly awaited than the phone. OnePlus’s current OxygenOS 12 on the OnePlus 10 Pro includes many unpopular design elements borrowed from parent company Oppo’s ColorOS, and OxygenOS 13 has been promised to be a return to OnePlus’s history of fast, smooth, and simple software.

The OnePlus 10T will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which Americans would so far have only seen in the obscure Asus ROG Phone 6, although the chip powers several other phones internationally.

Another key feature that might appear on the phone is blazing-fast 150W charging, which has already appeared on the OnePlus 10R(Opens in a new window) in India. According to the company, it can half-charge a battery in five minutes.

“The OnePlus 10T carries the tagline ‘Evolve Beyond Speed’ – that’s because we’ve not only focused on delivering more speed, but smarter speed,” OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said in a blog post(Opens in a new window).

While Lau didn’t say anything about price, carriers, or availability date, we anticipate that this phone will be sold by T-Mobile in the US. Analyst Jeff Moore at Wave7 Research points out that OnePlus has become the primary Android alternative to Samsung at T-Mobile.

The OxygenOS software will come first to the OnePlus 10 Pro, “followed by the OnePlus 10T later this year,” according to OnePlus. That means the 10T might launch with OxygenOS 12, but it’s not clear from the release. We’re sure to find out more between now and Aug. 3.
